HUNAN - When Qingfeng* became a Christian, her strong desire to grow deeper in her faith wavered over time as she simply did not know how to go about doing that. She struggled to understand the Bible. Praying to God felt distant and awkward, and she often struggled with how to live out her faith in a complicated world.
"Even though I believed in Jesus, I often felt spiritually weak, uncertain of how to move forward, and unsure of how to deal with sin, trials, or my old ways," she confessed sheepishly.
That all began to change when Qingfeng’s church introduced two discipleship books, Abundant Life and Abundant Grace, into her small Bible Study group. These books, supported by the United Bible Societies (UBS), were not merely Bible Study materials; they became her lifeline.
Abundant Life gave Qingfeng a solid foundation as a new believer. Abundant Grace took her deeper into God’s Word. Together, they offered a clear, step-by-step pathway to maturity in Christ. Both books are filled with real-life examples, biblical truths, and encouragement for daily living.
As Qingfeng studied, prayed, joined group discussions, and reflected on the lessons, she experienced a spiritual awakening.

"It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me"
The teachings on repentance, obedience, and overcoming sin opened her eyes. She learned how to fight spiritual battles, walk in truth, and rely fully on the Holy Spirit. "Therefore, now I could say with joy, as in Galatians 2:20, that 'It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me'," she exclaims.

The Word of God was like sweet honey to her soul. Reading the Bible nourished her spirit, strengthened her walk, and brought her tremendous peace. What God promised in Ezekiel 36:26 ("And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh") became truths that renewed her heart.
Today, Qingfeng is grateful to the donors from UBS for gifting her these books, which made her faith renewal possible.
“May Abundant Life and Abundant Grace be like five loaves and two fish,” she says, “small in appearance, but multiplied by God to bless many.”
