After three years of not being able to meet up in person due to Covid travel restrictions, it was with great gratitude and anticipation that our United Bible Societies (UBS) delegation could finally make a trip to China to renew our ties with our Chinese church partners.
Led by Rev Dirk Gevers, Secretary General of UBS, the UBS delegation comprised four other members from UBS China Partnership (UBS CP), namely, Dr Bernard Low, Co-Director (Ministry); Mr Daniel Loh, Co-Director (Operations); Mr Kua Wee Seng, Consultant; and Ms Cassandra Lim, Relations Manager.
In the first part of the trip, the UBS delegation visited Shanghai and Nanjing and met up with leaders of the China Christian Council and National Committee of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Churches in China (CCC/TSPM), Shanghai and Jiangsu CC/TSPM, and the Shanghai Catholic Diocese. Visits were also made to Amity Printing Company, Amity Foundation and two seminaries. We appreciate the warm welcome and generous hospitality shown by our Chinese partners, and we look forward to furthering and fostering our relationship with them to serve the Churches in China.
